• Early leaf drop, well before typical fall timing

These symptoms can look similar to normal seasonal change at first glance, which is part of why they are easy to miss or dismiss.

Tree Stress Is Often Cumulative

One thing we try to explain to our customers is that tree stress rarely comes from a single event. What you are seeing today may be the result of conditions the tree has been dealing with for months, or even years. Heat, drought, compacted soil, root damage, and past storm damage can all add up over time, even if the tree looked fine last season.

By the time visible symptoms show up in the canopy, the underlying stress has often been building for a while. That is why early attention matters. Catching a problem sooner gives a tree a better chance to recover.

When to Have a Tree Looked At

• One tree is showing stress while nearby trees of the same species look healthy
• Leaf changes are spreading quickly across the canopy
